Three Arrested in Monticello for Felony Gang Assault

Monticello police have arrested Shamhrial Brown (23) of Hurleyville, Terrence Hulse (29) of Monticello and Earl Singer IV (27) of the Bronx following an investigation into the gang assault upon 2 males victims. The defendants were each charged with felony gang assault in the 1st degree and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree.
On Friday 9/21/12 at approximately 4:30 AM the male victims ages 21 and 26 were asked by Brown to drive her to a secluded location off of Waverly avenue in the village of Monticello.
Once at that location Hulse and Singer emerged from a wooded area and assaulted the victims. The victims were severely beaten, punched, kicked and struck with a rock about their heads and bodies by the defendants. The three defendants then fled then taking the victims car keys.
The victims then went to a residence seeking help and Monticello police responded. The victims were taken to C.R.M.C. by mobile medic ambulance. The victims both sustained multiple bruises and cuts. One victim sustained a fractured nose. The other victim sustained fractured ribs and a fractured right orbital.
The defendants were all arrested by Monticello police on Tuesday 9/25/12. The defendants were arraigned in the village of Monticello justice court and then remanded to the Sullivan county jail. Bail was set at $20,000.00 for Brown, $10,000.00 for Hulse and $7500.00 for Singer.
Additionally Brown is also wanted on 3 bench warrants from the town of fallsburg police department for petit larceny, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and dwai by the use of drugs. Brown is also wanted by the Sullivan county sheriff department on a bench warrant for aggravated unlicensed operation. An investigation is continuing.
