On August 12, 2012, State Police in Wurtsboro arrested a man for Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree and Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer after observing the subject speeding in the Town of Mamakating.
Daniel J. Gonzalez, a 25 year old Liberty resident, was eastbound on ST 17 in the town of Mamakating when he went through radar in excess of 100 MPH. Gonzalez, operating a Harley Davidson Buell sport motorcycle, failed to stop and continued on ST 17 towards Middletown. Troopers lost sight of the motorcycle in the town of Wallkill and later located the motorcycle in a ditch on the entrance ramp to Interstate 84 westbound.
Gonzalez, wjho was not injured in the accident, was taken into custody and later arraigned in the town of Mamakating Court and sent to Sullivan County Jail.
