Honesdale duo arrested for paycheck theft

On June 15th, 2012 Honesdale Borough Police officers investigated a theft of a paycheck from the mail. The victim, a Honesdale Borough resident, reported to officers that he did not receive his payroll check, in excess of $1,300, sent to him in the mail by his employer. After contacting his employer the victim was advised that the paycheck had been sent to him in the mail and it had been deposited at a bank located in Honesdale.

After an investigation into the mater, Borough Police obtained arrest warrants for two local individuals that being Jeffery DIEHL 44 years of age of Honesdale and Patricia OSCZEPINSKI 51 years of age also of Honesdale for their involvement in this theft. DIEHL was charged with Theft by unlawful Taking, Forgery, and Receiving Stolen Property. OSCZEPISNKI was charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Forgery.

On June 27th, 2012 DIEHL and OSCZEPINSKI turned themselves in to the police. After a preliminary arraignment at The Wayne County Courthouse they were each released on $2,500.00 unsecured bail. Central Court has been scheduled for July 11th, 2012 at The Wayne County Courthouse.
