Bloomingburg Man Flees Accident Scene on Foot

State Police investigated a two-car personal injury accident on State Rte 42 in the town of Thompson in the vicinity of Exit 105. The investigation revealed that Michael G. Partridge, 20, of Bloomingburg, NY, was northbound on State Rte 42 in a 2008 Hyundai when his vehicle made contact with a 2003 Cadillac CTS operated by Brett Howard, 34.

After the accident , Mr. Partridge fled the scene on foot into a wooded area adjacent to the highway. Three people were transported to Catskill Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Mr. Partridge was located by State Police in the vicinity of Walmart and taken into custody. He was found to be intoxicated and was charged with felony DWI/Leandra's Law (as a 14-year-old child was in his vehicle at the time of the accident), Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident.

No arraignment information is available at this time. The investigation is continuing.
