Copper pipes stolen in Liberty

On June 3rd, 2012 Village of Liberty police arrested two individuals in connection with a burglary occurring in January 2012 to a Village of Liberty residence in which copper pipes were stolen. Police were called to the residence on January 13th 2012 when a neighbor called reporting suspicious behavior.

When Village of Liberty Police officers arrived it was apparent that the residence had been broken into and several copper pipes had been cut and removed. Investigation into the incident resulted in the arrest of Ollen Eck III, 26 of Liberty and Joseph Bivins 23, also of Liberty. Eck was charged with Burglary in the 3rd degree, a felony and petit larceny and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, misdemeanors. Bivins was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, a misdemeanor.

Eck was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail. Bivins was issued an appearance ticket to return to Town of Liberty Court on June 12th 2012
