Liberty man arrested for stealing from Majek Funiture

he New York State Police at Ellenville announce the arrest of Michael T. Cook, age 23, of 85 Wawanda Ave., Liberty, NY, for the felony charge of Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree and the misdemeanor charge of Making a Punishable False Written Statement. Cook was arrested after an investigation into the theft of approximately $2,700 in US Currency from the Majek furniture store located in the Ellenville area, Town of Wawarsing, Ulster County, NY.

In March of 2012, SP Ellenville received a larceny report regarding the theft of money from the store’s register. Investigation revealed that Cook, an employee of the furniture store who also reported the incident to the State Police, was responsible for the larceny.

Cook was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Wawarsing Court on April 27, 2012, at 8:30am.
