Roscoe woman charged with stealing from Sureway Taxi

On Thursday March 22nd 2012 Village of Liberty Police detective’s arrested Dawn Wowk, 39, of Roscoe on charges stemming from a two month long investigation into a prolonged theft from, Sureway taxi ,where she had previously been employed. Wowk is accused of stealing $20,671 during the months of September, November and December of 2011.

Additionally Wowk altered and forged business records at the business in an effort to conceal the theft. The investigation is still ongoing, and additional charges are expected as the theft is believed to have occurred over a longer period of time. Wowk was charged with Grand larceny in the 3rd degree and 65 counts of falsifying business records in the 1st degree, all felonies. Wowk was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail to appear in Town of Liberty Court on Thursday March 29th, 2012.
