On 12-22-2011, the Honesdale Borough Police filed charges of Retail Theft, Criminal Conspiracy and Receiving Stolen Property against Carl and Mary Strickland of Equinunk, PA.
Borough Police allege that on 10-13-2011 both Carl and Mary Strickland entered The Super Duper Market located on Willow Ave, in Honesdale. While in the store two shopping carts were filled with merchandise. The merchandise was then removed from the store, through the entrance door without being paid for. The pair then left the store with the unpaid items valued at $191.58.
The police learned the identity of the two on 12-10-2011 when the couple returned to the store and were shopping. They were observed by store personnel who then alerted the police to respond.
