18 year old arrest for flashing in Liberty, another arrested for domestic incident

On November 11th 2011 Village of Liberty Police arrested an 18 year old man of Highland, NY on charges stemming from an incident that occurred at the Dollar Tree in the Village of Liberty. Police responded to the store after a report of a man flashing a female customer.

After a brief investigation officers located the suspect and learned that he had followed a female customer around the store eventually exposing his penis to her. The 18 year old man, whose name is being withheld due to possible youthful offender status, was charged with public lewdness, a misdemeanor and harassment in the second degree a violation. The 18 year old man was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and was released on his own recognizance.

On November 11th 2011 Village of Liberty Police arrested Jason Anderson, 28 of Liberty on charges stemming from a domestic violence incident that occurred at 11 Lake Street in Liberty. Liberty Police were called to the residence around midnight for a report a fight between a boyfriend and girlfriend. Police quickly learned that Anderson had struck his girlfriend in the presence a three year old child.

Additionally while investigating the incident police discovered heroin and an SKS7 7.62x39 semi-automatic rifle, both belonging to Anderson. Anderson, who had a prior felony conviction, was barred by state law from possessing the rifle. Anderson was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, and endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors, as well as harassment in the second degree a violation. Anderson was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and was remanded to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
