State Police at SP Liberty announce the arrests Bret Volpe, 22, and Erik Slavinjak, 20, both of Middletown, NY for the misdemeanor of Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd and numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

On September 21, 2011 a State Trooper observed two sport bike motorcycles traveling at a high rate of speed on St-17 in the Town of Liberty. The Trooper attempted to execute a Vehicle and Traffic stop of the motorcycles but both subjects failed to comply. The subjects exited St-17 in the Town of Thompson where, with the assistance of the Village of Monticello Police Department, the subjects were taken into custody without further incident.

Both Volpe and Slavinjak were processed without incident and arraigned in the Village of Monticello Court.
