A 23-year-old man from Hawley has been arrested after leading police on a chase with speeds reaching up to 110 miles per hour. Richard Chicoski was operating a green sedan without license plate lights, and Trooper Winniberg attemepted to pull him over. But instead of slowing down, Chicoski increased speed.

Trooper's report reads, "I began to pursue this same green sedan west on SR590. The pursuit of this vehicle took this sedan as well as my patrol vehicle on SR590, Everly Rd., Finn Swamp Rd., Ledgdale Rd., multiple streets within the Escape Devlopment,, SR191 south, I-84 westbound, and SR348. Speeds achieved during this pursuit ranged from 60 mph to 110 mph on the interstate. Along this route of travel, the driver of the green sedan went through multiple stop signs and passed multiple vehicles on the left side. The sedan also traveled often in the oncoming travel lane around blind curves and on straight sections of the roadway forcing cars to pull to the shoulder.

"Stop sticks were deployed by other troopers at the intersection of SR348 and Pump HOuse Rd. The result of this deployment was the deflation of the two front tires as well as the dirver's side rear tire. The operator eventually jumped from the vehicle while it was in motion and traveling in teh oncoming travel lane of of SR348.

"I then pursued the white malke driver that jumped from the driver's seat and began to run through a back yard of a residence. I then delpoyed my tazer on this male as he attempted to continue to flee through a swampy area. This man was then taken into custody at this time.

Troopers from Blooming Grove and the Hawley PD assisted. Chicosky was sent to Wayne County Jail on $25,000 bail.
