Liberty man arrested on assault charges

On 06/19/11 the Liberty Police were called to a stabbing which had occurred in a boarding house at 428 North Main Street. When Officers arrived at the scene they found the victim Dehaven Daniel a 57 year old tenant of 428 North Main lying on the front porch with a stab wound to the neck.
The victim was sent to Catskill Regional Medical Center where he was then flown to Westchester Medical Center where he remains in stable condition. Liberty Police assisted by the New York State Police BCI arrested Arnell Brown 47years old also residing at 428 North Main St and charged him with Assault in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, seven counts of Forgery in the Second Degree all felonies.
Arnell was also charged with False Personation a misdemeanor. The Forgery and the False personation charges stem from Arnell Brown using a false name during the early stages of the investigation. Arnell Brown was arraigned in Town Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
