Honesdale Borough Police have arrested 33 year old George Jacob who has been wanted by Borough Police since October 2005.

JACOB was in the Wayne County Correctional Facility after recently being picked up by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department in Catawissa, PA on a bench warrant for other criminal charges from September 2005. Those charges were for Obstructing the Administration of Law Enforcement and Hindering Apprehension.

In October 2005, charges were filed on Jacob for being a driver of a vehicle that crashed on Erie St. The pick-up truck he was driving struck a telephone pole, ran over some shrubbery and then hit a dump truck head- on that was being operated by Nickolas Giannetti of Pleasant Mount.

Giannetti did not suffer any injuries, but a passenger in his vehicle sustained a contusion on his head. Jacob fled the scene and a warrant was obtained for his arrest.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled in Central Court on Wednesday May 18th, 2011. Jacobs was released after posting a $2500 bond.
