A Honesdale woman was seriously injured in a traffic accident on April 18, at about 10:45 pm, when the car she was driving, a 2002 Volkswagon Jetta, left the road, careened back onto the road, struck a truck, and left the road again.
Traveling on State Route 191, the car then left the road again, from the other side of the street, and according to a release from the Pennsylvania State Police, the car continued to travel, through a grassy area, glanced off a tree, rolled several times and ejected the driver, 27-year-old Lisa Davis-Wilcox, who sustained severe injuries. The car finally came to rest on its roof.
Davis-Wilcox was taken by helicopter to CMC Hospital in Scranton. The police report said that driving under the influence was a factor in the crash.
