On April 22, 2011 at approximately 6:51 PM, Deputies from the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office were called to 737 Callicoon Center Rd. in the Town of Callicoon for a report of two dirt bikes colliding.
The investigation at the scene revealed that Brad Houghtaling, 22, of Jeffersonville collided with Daniel Pierce, 24, of Howells as the two rode around the yard of the residence. Neither operator was wearing a helmet.
The Callicoon Center Fire Depertment and Jeffersonville Volunteer Ambulance responded to the scene. Houghtaling was flown by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center with a head injury. Pierce was treated for minor injuries. No tickets were issued.
