Spring Glen man arrested for burglary to U.S. Post Office.

The New York State Police at Ellenville announced the arrest of Abner Otorlaza, age 46, of Seven Lake View Drive East, Spring Glen, NY for burglary following a 911 call reporting the Post Office in Spring Glen NY was being burglarized.

A uniformed trooper immediately responded to the report of the burglary in progress and upon arrival found the post office rear door broken and found the interior ransacked, and packages stolen.

The NY State Police at Ellenville Bureau of Criminal Investigation along with Troop F Forensic Investigation Unit responded to the scene to investigate. Following an intensive investigation Abner Otorlaza was found to have forcibly entered the post office, and found to have stolen postal service equipment as well as several packages. State Police were able to recover some of the stolen property.

Otorlaza was charged with burglary 3rd, a felony, processed and arraigned before Town of Wawarsing Town Justice Charles Dechon who remanded Otorlaza to Ulster County Jail without bail.

State Police were assisted in the investigation by the US Postal Inspectors Office.
