Late Winter Snow
These small sierras sawing at the sky
Border the highway as the plow goes by.
The snowdrifts fatten on the leeward side
While papers, beer cans, garbage hide
Beneath the graying blanket on the ground.
At thawing time the long lost will be found —
Litter and junk, tumbled snow fences...
Let's hope spring cleaning comes when spring commences!
