Crystal Run and employees raise funds for Relay for Life

MIDDLETOWN, NY — Physicians and staff of Crystal Run Healthcare came together recently to fundraise for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. A total of $9,062 was raised by employees in a variety of ways, including a practice-wide dress-down day as well as numerous raffles. Including Crystal Run Healthcare’s corporate sponsorship, a grand total of $21,062 was donated to the American Cancer Society for five local relays including Goshen, Newburgh, Pine Bush, Rockland County and Sullivan County.

The funds raised support the American Cancer Society’s mission of finding answers that save lives and improving cancer patients’ quality of life. Every year, more than four million people in over 20 countries come together to raise necessary funds and awareness to save lives from cancer through the Relay for Life movement. At these events, participants and survivors celebrate what they’ve overcome, remember those who have lost the battle against such a deadly disease and honor those who have fought or are still fighting.

Crystal Run oncologist Dr. Robert E. Dinsmore kicked off the opening ceremony of the Relay for Life of Sullivan County, where a total of $3,263 was raised. Staff members and providers from Crystal Run Healthcare were also at each relay event giving away T-shirts and other items, as well as selling raffle tickets to a variety of prizes. Crystal Run Healthcare has been a corporate sponsor of the Relay for Life since 2003.
