LIBERTY, NY — The town and village of Liberty will co-sponsor a forum designed to provide information of a federal program that will assist renters to be able to purchase a home in Liberty on Wednesday, October 28. When a similar forum was held one year ago, over 40 interested renters attended.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has a program that will enable many of our renters to buy homes in Liberty with USDA support. Representatives from the USDA will provide information and assistance with applications. Due to the bargain prices on many of our homes in Liberty, qualified home buyers can own their own home and pay less per month (including mortgage and taxes) than a comparable house would rent for. Spanish speaking presenters will be present at the forum.
