ELLENVILLE, NY — Ellenville Regional Hospital hosted the grand opening of its new building, which connects the hospital with the Ellenville Family Health Center located next door to the hospital, on July 22. Steven L. Kelley, president and CEO of Ellenville Regional Hospital, hosted the event. An invocation and remarks were presented by Rev. Julius Collins, Chairman, Ellenville Regional Hospital Board of Trustees. Keynote speakers were Mike Hein, Ulster County Executive, and the honoree Neil S. Calman, MD.

The new building was dedicated to Calman, the CEO of the Institute for Family Health, which operates the Ellenville Family Health Center. The institute is the largest federally-qualified health center in New York State and has been serving the Ellenville and Wawarsing community since 2007, providing primary care, dental care, podiatry care and behavioral health services, as well as providing hospitalist services at Ellenville Regional Hospital. The Institute operates the Mid-Hudson Family Practice Residency, which is the first recipient of a Teaching Health Center award in New York State.

The Neil Calman, MD Medical Arts Building will serve many functions. It houses the hospital’s new cardiac rehabilitation unit, which opened in November 2014, as well as the Health Quest Medical Practice Cardiology Suite. The hospital also purchased a new open-bore MRI unit, which is located in the new Medical Arts Building. Finally, the hospital’s Specialty Provider Clinic has been relocated to the Medical Arts Pavilion to provide more clinical space and a better experience for patients seeking orthopedic, gastroenterological, surgical, podiatric, respiratory and pain management services.
