Two pictures have been combined on this old postcard. On the bottom it reads: “Ice Races and Judges at Lake Huntington, N.Y.” Pictured perhaps circa 1900, it was back in the days when folks made their own fun, and they were often creative about it. The four horse-and-buggies are off and running. The judges seem to have taken their role seriously. They are all dressed up for the occasion. I hope they all met somewhere to warm up after the event!
