Postmarked 1910, here is a picture of Center Lake in Cochecton Center. The Lackawaxen River had been dammed in order to provide water power for a tannery located in the near vicinity. The resulting lake provided recreation for the residents and the many boarders who frequented the area. The dam was washed away in the 1942 flood, which caused great damage in the surrounding areas.
