BEACH LAKE, PA — A grassroots group focused on exploring ways to serve the needs the aging population in our community will host a meeting on Monday, April 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Berlin Township Community Center, 50 Milanville Rd. At this meeting, participants will investigate the possibilities of implementing the “Village” model in Wayne County, PA and Sullivan County, NY.
Villages are membership-driven, grass-roots organizations that through volunteers and paid staff, coordinate access to affordable services including transportation, health and wellness programs; social and educational activities; and other day-to-day needs such as grocery shopping, gardening, cleaning, simple home repairs and chores. These services enable individuals to remain in their homes and connected to their communities as they age. Email marcia@mailhosts.net or call 570/576-0865.
