The J.S. Anderson building is shown here after 1894. It had been rebuilt in brick after the disastrous fire in 1893 that consumed several wooden buildings on the north end of Narrowsburg’s Main Street. In that era, many of the Main Street structures boasted an awning over the sidewalk fronting their stores as you see in this photo. A fourth floor was later added to this building.
