Local cookbook raises funds for victims of violence

PIKE COUNTY, PA — Safe Haven of Pike County has published its first cookbook, “A Taste of Pike County,” featuring a collection of recipes from the area’s restaurants and markets. All profits go directly to help the victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and serious crime in Pike County.

The cookbook includes recipes for everything from meat, poultry and vegetable dishes to a selection of soup and bread recipes, plus (of course) desserts and drinks.

In honor of Pike County turning 200 years old, the book includes an article about the history of the county, as well as one that documents the culinary legacy of Milford, one of the oldest in the nation.

The cookbook costs $25 (plus state tax and shipping charges). The cookbook can be purchased online at tinyurl.com/p56pveg.
