Are you feeling lucky? If you answered “yes,” then it is time to buy some raffle tickets, which benefit St. Francis Church, and possibly you. All prizes are cash, with a grand prize of $5,000. These prizes are so good that even the 4th and 5th prizes of $500 are good, with 2nd prize even better at $2,000 and third prize at $1,000. Tickets are limited to only 400, so you are not competing with the world, just a relatively small number.

Tickets may be purchased for $50 each by calling 845/252-3490 or 845/252-7547. The winners will be announced on August 24, so there is not much time left to get your raffle ticket before they are sold out, and then, cross your fingers and dream what you will do with the winnings. Good luck.

You are sure to be a winner on Saturday, August 23, if you come to the third annual Pig Mountain in Narrowsburg. Main Street will be closed and with the purchase of a $35 ticket, you will be able to eat from 5 until 9 p.m. This year 15 chefs from near and far will be joining in the fun. Each chooses a culinary theme, roasts a pig and makes vegetable sides to match. Maybe a Cajun pig, or an Asian pig or maybe a good old pulled-pork pig; you never know what the chefs are up to until you stroll up and down Main Street trying to decide what to sample next. It seems you are always influenced by the person you overhear telling someone else, “This is the best.” Then you find yourself standing on line to taste the best of the best. This event is one-of-a-kind and a lot of fun. Purchase your tickets online at www.pigmt.com or stop in the Big Eddy Toy Store for more information. Don’t miss out and be sure to come hungry. There will be plenty to eat.
