EQUINUNK, PA — Teachers at the Manchester Community Library have devised an innovative, one-week program to aid children returning to school in the fall. A basic skills program will be presented in a review workshop from August 4 to 8, 10 a.m. to 12 noon. This free program is for elementary school students who have completed kindergarten. Sign up deadline is July 30. Bring the child who is being enrolled to the library for a brief introduction on a Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. or on a Saturday morning, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
Two certified teachers plus other volunteers will work on basic study, math, and phonics skills. Methods will include hands-on activities, computer activities, and ideas for parents to implement at home. For information, call 570/224-6399, or call the library, 570/224-4173, on a Monday or Wednesday (4 to 7 p.m.) or on Saturday, 9 to noon.
