Screening of documentary “Miss Representation”
DAMASCUS, PA — There will be a screening of “Miss Representation,” an award-winning documentary by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, produced by Roco Films, which takes a close look at the misrepresentation of girls and women by the media. This free community event will be hosted by Damascus Manor United Methodist Church and presented by Melissa Rutledge on Friday, July 25 at 6 p.m.
The documentary is not recommended for children under the age of 10, and it is requested that all minors be accompanied by an adult. The Wayne County group, Miss Representation Wayne, is in its second year of educating the public about the negative effects messages in the media have on women of all ages. After the screening, there will be refreshments and fellowship.
