MONTICELLO, NY — The summer reading program at Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library will offer a variety of programs for children and teens. This summer’s reading theme for kids is “Fizz Boom Read,” and the theme for teens is “Spark a Reaction.”

On June 18 at 5 p.m. the teen book discussion will consider “Th1treen R3asons Why” by Jay Asher. On June 26 at 6:15 p.m. the monthly millennial book discussion will talk about “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins.

On Wednesdays the library holds a “Read Aloud” to listen to a story and do a craft. They will also have reading groups for third- through fifth-graders, middle school and high school students. Stop by on Tuesday mornings for a science experiment and on Fridays for open craft hour.

There will also be special one- and two-week workshops. Register for movie making workshops from July 14 through 19 (sessions available for ages eight to 12 and 12 and older), the Library Minecraft Challenge (ages 12+), or sign up for a media arts program in collaboration with Nesin Cultural Arts Center in August (ages 13+).
