MILFORD, PA — Jeremy Block, a student at Delaware Valley High School (DVHS) has been recognized as a distinguished Park Scholar by the Ithaca College Roy H. Park School of Communications for the incoming freshman class of 2018.

The Park Scholar Awards are merit-based scholarships awarded to outstanding high school seniors each year. The award covers the entire cost of attendance (tuition, room, and board) at Ithaca College and includes stipends for living expenses, books and a one-time computer purchase.

Students in the Park Scholar program are welcomed into a dynamic learning community that develops future communications leaders who engage critically, act globally and perform ethically. Through a mixture of academic and service programming, scholars are challenged to take action and give back to their communities, and to use the power of mass communication to make a positive impact on the world.

Block has chosen to major in the new field of emerging media, which is a dual major that spans the fields of cinematography and computer science. Ithaca College is one of the three colleges in the country that offers this mix.

Block has worked hard to establish himself as a young cinematographer and an outstanding student for his entire tenure at DVHS. An Eagle Scout, and involved in many high school clubs and activities, music, drama and art, Block has maintained an average GPA of 4.388, completed six AP courses, and completed numerous video projects for the school, local community and local businesses.
