CALLICOON, NY — The 4-H Youth Development Shooting Sports and Environmental Education program series will begin this spring. Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Sullivan County’s 4-H youth development program is offering a shooting sports course on Fridays at 5:30 p.m. at the Sportsmen’s Den, 623 Gabel Rd.
Children ages five to 10 can participate in hunting and living history lessons, while children ages 11 and above are permitted to participate in the firearm disciplines. 4-H programs are open to the general public. The schedule of classes is as follows: air rifle on May 30, June 6 and 13; .22 rifle on June 20 and 27; and air pistol on July 11, 18 and 25.
Cost is $10 per child or $30 per family for the entire series. A waiver is available for parents and/or guardians interested in volunteering ,who must satisfy the volunteer enrollment process with CCE Sullivan County.
