How you can go solar—for free

GLEN SPEY, NY — An informational workshop on solar power will be held on Saturday, May 3 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Homestead School, 428 Hollow Rd.

The presenters will be Todd Okeson, Unified Infrastructure/East Coast Alternative Energy, Solar for Homes and Institutions; Stephen Stuart, technical specialist with Sullivan Alliance for Sustainable Development (SASD); and Carol Roig, co-executive director of SASD.

Tour a purchased ground-mounted solar installation with 44,000 kWh annual capacity supplying 100% of a local school’s annual electrical needs.
