Hay & Forage Education Pasture Walk with CCE Orange, Sullivan & Ulster

PINE BUSH, NY — Seasoned farmers or beginners can gain knowledge at a hands-on Hay and Forage Education Pasture Walk offered on Saturday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This partnered program with Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster counties will be held at Richard Blazeski Farm on Sinsbaugh Road in Pine Bush.

Dave Roberts, New York State grazing land specialist from U.S. Department of Agriculture – Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA-NRCS) will present on how to correctly identify the weeds and plants that inhabit crop and forage fields. Other topics to be covered are finding good species for hay production, weed control, hay harvesting, storage and forage nutrition.
