WAYNE COUNTY, PA — During the month of May the PrimeTime Health Wayne County senior center presentations will be on prescription drug safety. Dates and locations for presentations are May 1 at Northern Wayne Fire Company (Crosstown Hwy., Lakewood); May 7 at Honesdale Senior Center (323 Tenth St.; 570/253-4262); May 8 at Hamlin Senior Center (Rt 590, Township Building; 570/689-3766); and May 12 at Hawley Senior Center (Bingham Park; 570/226-4209). This program will be presented by Charlotte Myers, certified prevention specialist from the Wayne County Drug & Alcohol Commission.

Myers will talk about how seniors respond differently to alcohol and medication, and how medications and alcohol may be affecting health in adverse ways. She will also highlight the need for keeping medicines in areas where children and teens do not have access to them. There will be detectives available at each of the center locations so that the community can bring in expired medications.

All programs will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon. If you would like lunch, call 570/253-4262 at least two days in advance. If you need transportation, call 570/253-4280. Visit aging.co.wayne.pa.us for more information.
