41st annual CROP-Walk to raise money for the hungry

HONESDALE, PA — Local churches will sponsor this year’s CROP-Walk at the Wayne County Fairgrounds on Sunday, April 27 at 1 p.m. This annual effort raises funds to fight hunger locally and around the world. “We walk because they walk” is the slogan, which reminds us that throughout the world many people have to walk up to 10 miles each day for a meal or for clean water.

CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) sponsors this event nationally through Church World Service.

You can walk, run, or ride your bicycle for three, six, or 10 miles. Prizes will be given to the group with the largest number of participants, and the last group to finish. Sponsor forms are available by calling Grace Episcopal Church. If you aren’t able to walk, you may donate to someone who is walking, or donate online at churchworldservice.org and click on CROP Hunger Walk. For more information, call 570/253-2760.
