LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY — SUNY Sullivan is a finalist in the 2014 Second Nature Climate Leadership Awards annual competition. SUNY Sullivan has established its reputation as an institution dedicated to sustainability by incorporating such practices into both its curricula and its campus operations. The college’s director of sustainability, Helena le Roux, refers to the campus as a “living laboratory,” where students learn about the issues and prepare for careers in the field, and can interact in an environment where sustainability is a defining characteristic of the culture.
