The weather is getting nicer, the days are getting longer and the tax season is over. If you have any tax questions, you have to call the Sullivan County treasurer’s office at 845/807-0200. If you need a receipt you can go to www.taxlookup.net.

The Ladies Aid of Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church would like to thank everyone who donated and came out to their penny social and helped make it a success.

Pastor Phyllis Haynes of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Narrowsburg would like to thank everyone who came out to Katie’s Café on Saturday, April 5 and a big “thank you” for the volunteer dinner. I heard the dinner was well attended and the lasagna was delicious. Katie’s Café is a free lunch on the first Saturday of the month at St. Paul’s, and on the third Saturday of the month St. Francis Xavier Church holds Two Frank’s Café free lunches; the next one will be on Saturday, April 19. Fr. Bill of St. Francis would love to see you.

Join the Cochecton Youth Commission on April 26 at the Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour for a fun afternoon learning about local history and touring underground. Arrival time is 12 noon. Visit www.lackawannacounty.org/index.php/attractions/coal-mine for directions. Sign-ups are at the Old Town Hall on April 15 from 6 to 7 p.m. As always, Cochecton youth are free; for out-of-town children or adults, see the website above for the fee required at the entrance. Event coordinator is Joan Ernst, who can be reached at 845/ 932-8123. Watch your email for more upcoming events, and as always, “like” us on Facebook.

Just a reminder, on Saturday, April 19, the Cochecton Men’s Club is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt, on the ballfield down in the flats of Cochecton. This egg hunt is open to the public, so bring your kids out to have a day of fun. Hot dogs will be served. For more information, give Sean Nearing a call 845/932-7899.

I would like to welcome back all the snowbirds and hope you all got home safe and sound and that you had a great winter.

Have a great week and email leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have news.
