‘It’s all relative’ genealogy group forming

CALICOON, NY — An interest group is forming at the Western Sullivan Public Library for those who study genealogy and those who wish to. The initial meeting is planned for April 15 at 6 p.m. at the Delaware Free Branch in Callicoon. The needs and experience level of attendees will determine the course of the program.

Potential topics and activities include support in choosing and using resources such as and, sharing information about and from local and regional resources, organization and record maintenance, archiving original sources, brainstorming for individual blocks, field trips to local cemeteries, and guest speakers. A beginner class on genealogy is scheduled for April 25 at 5 p.m. at the Jeffersonville branch. This class provides an introduction to the tools available for genealogical research.
