LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The Livingston Manor Library will host a terrarium-building workshop for adults and children 12 and over. The class will be taught by gardening expert Mia Koerner on Saturday, April 12 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines a terrarium as “a transparent enclosure for keeping or raising small plants…indoors.”
Participants will learn how terrariums provide for the needs of growing plants as they create their own small ecosystems. Plants, soil, charcoal, gravel, moss and containers will be provided. Optionally, participants may bring glass or plastic containers of their choice, with lids, large enough to hold at least two three-inch plants.
Space is limited to 15 people. The fee is $20. Register by April 7 in the library or mail payment to Livingston Manor Library, 92 Main Street, Livingston Manor, NY 12758. For more information, call 845/439-5440.
