ALBANY, NY — Students from Sullivan County BOCES will join more than 100 other high school students from across the state to compete for over $2 million in scholarships at the 10th annual New York State ProStart Invitational held at The Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park on March 7 and 8.

The event is made up of two distinct competitions. The first is the culinary competition, sponsored by Wegmans, and the second is the management competition, sponsored by Rich Products.

More than 40 restaurant owners, managers, chefs and college instructors from across the state will judge the teams competing for trophies, medals, scholarships and the opportunity to represent New York at the National ProStart Invitational held from May 3 to 5 in Minneapolis, MN.

To attend this event or for more information, contact Elizabeth Soscia, the New York State Restaurant Association Educational Foundation education coordinator, at 518/452-5522.
