LIBERTY, NY — The health of the brain plays a critical role in almost everything people do: thinking, feeling, remembering, working and playing. Researchers now know there’s a lot one can do to help keep the brain healthier as it ages that may reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia.
To learn more about aging well and maintaining a healthy brain, Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County’s Caregiver Resource Program will hold a free workshop on “Keeping Fit from the Neck Up” on Tuesday, March 4 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the Gerald J. Skoda Extension Education Center.
Donna Davies, from the Alzheimer’s Association of the Hudson Valley, will present at this workshop. Davies will help participants learn about retaining brain health through diet, physical exercise, and activities that exercise the mind.
Pre-registration is required by calling Bonnie Lewis, RN at 845/292-6180 or emailing her at bjl25@cornell.edu.
