Chamber of Commerce hosts free employer update seminar

LIBERTY, NY — The Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce and the Sullivan County Center for Workforce Development will hold a free business seminar on Monday, February 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sullivan County BOCES, 6 Wierk Ave., Conference Room 1.

This informational seminar will help you better understand, implement and manage recent changes and complex issues pertaining to the minimum wage increase, unemployment insurance reform and worker’s compensation. Presentations include “Introduction and Overview of New York State Minimum Wage Increase” from Laura Quigley, director, Sullivan County Center for Workforce Development; “Business & Labor Update” from James Rogers, deputy commissioner for business and labor affairs for the Department of Labor; “Unemployment Insurance Reform” from Thom Kleiner, Hudson Valley representative for the New York State Commissioner of Labor; and “Worker’s Compensation” from Neil Gilberg, advocate for business, New York State Worker’s Compensation Board.
