LIBERTY, NY — A free webinar focusing on steps caregivers can take to help older adults to develop better nutrition and eating habits will be offered on Wednesday, February 12. This opportunity, hosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County’s Caregiver Resource Center, will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Gerald J. Skoda Extension Education Center. Coffee will be served.
Caregivers will receive education on topics including assisting a senior to plan and shop for groceries, select nutritious foods, and healthy food preparation that tastes good too. Participants in this web seminar will be enabled to list at least three simple ways to help older adults shop for good food and eat right, describe ways to manage specific dietary concerns, such as diabetes, and identify the benefits of proper nutrition and the impact of poor nutrition on older adults.
The webinar presenter is Molly Carpenter, Home Instead Senior Care’s CAREGiver advocate and author of the not-for-profit book, “Confidence to Care,” a resource for family caregivers.
