MONTICELLO, NY — Monticello Elks Lodge #1544 is holding its annual Hoop Shoot on Saturday, January 11 at 10 a.m. at the Chase School in Wurtsboro. The Elks National Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest is open to boys and girls, ages eight to 13. Bring proof of age (birth certificate).

Winners could advance to the district contest on January 18, which is being hosted by Monticello Lodge this year, and then the National Hoop Shoot finals on April 10 in Springfield, MA.

There are two divisions (boys and girls) and three age categories (8 through 9, 10 through 11, 12 through 13). Contestants must be eight years old as of April 1, 2014. For information, call Jim Gerrard at 845/794-1544.
