Fitness classes for everyone


MONTICELLO, NY — This January, the Adult & Continuing Education Program at Sullivan BOCES is offering several fitness classes. All classes are held at the St. John Street Education Center in Monticello and cost $65 for the series.

Beyond Beginner Yoga classes are held on Mondays, starting January 27 and run through March 24 from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. This course is for yoga practitioners with some background and experience. Bring your mat.

Chair Yoga for Seniors classes will run on Thursdays, January 30 through March 20 from 12 to 1 p.m. Use deep breathing and physical movement to increase your flexibility and improve strength and relaxation. Experience is not necessary.

Tai Chi Chuan classes will start on January 29 and run through March 19 on Wednesdays from 1 to 2 p.m. Tai Chi Chuan has been recognized for thousands of years as both a method of self-cultivation and an unsurpassed form of self-defense. It can help calm the emotions, focus the mind and strengthen the immune system.
