REGION — The Women’s Leadership Committee of the Wayne/Pike Farm Bureau announced the donation of the 2013 Book of the Year, “The Guardian Team” by Cat Urbigkit, to local elementary schools.

The farm-centered book program was developed by the American Farm Bureau Federation to promote agricultural literacy. “The Guardian Team” tells the story of Reno (a pup) and Roo (a burro) learning to develop their guarding instincts on a ranch in Wyoming. They are soon spending time in the big pasture keeping watch over a herd of sheep.

The books will be available in the libraries of Wallenpaupack’s North Primary and South Elementary; Wayne Highland’s Lakeside, Stourbridge, Damascus and Preston elementaries; Western Wayne’s R.D. Wilson and Evergreen elementaries; Canaan Christian Academy; Damascus Christian Academy; and Dingman-Delaware and Delaware Valley Elementary in the Delaware Valley District.
