MONTICELLO, NY — Catskill Regional Medical Group (CRMG) has added Rafik A. El-Sabrout, MD, general surgeon, to its surgery department. In addition to being part of CRMG, Dr. El-Sabrout also performs general surgery at Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC).

El-Sabrout earned his master’s degree in surgery, as well as his doctorate degree in surgery, from Cairo University in Egypt. He is also an educator, having taught as an associate professor in the department of surgery at both New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY  and Cairo University.

El-Sabrout is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, United Kingdom. He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He has a long list of memberships and committee appointments including  the Physician Advisory Committee at Westchester Medical Center and the kidney-pancreas subcommittee of the New York Organ Donor Network.
