When I first moved to Cochecton Center, the first two people I met were Doug and Eleanor Heinle at Heinle’s General store. They were talking about Founder’s Day, when the community all gets together to have fun. I worked side by side with Eleanor and loved every minute of it—great memories. Eleanor passed away on September 25 at the age of 93. God bless her. Eleanor Heinle Martin’s service will be on Sunday, October 13 at 1 p.m. at the Cochecton Center United Methodist Church. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cochecton Center Community Center c/o George Walters, 300 Tyler Rd., Narrowsburg, NY 12764. Rest in peace, Eleanor, and say “hi” to Doug for me.

On a happier note, Tracy Henry of Cochecton Center, a former Sullivan West student, is the proud mother of twins. Tracy and her husband Frank Metcalf live in Fulton, NY. On September 24, Callen James, 7 pounds, 7 ounces, and his sister Vera Lynn, 6 pounds, were born and are doing fine. The proud grandparents Carol and Jim Henry are looking forward to many trips to visit their little cuties.

Save the date Saturday, November 2 at the Nutshell on Route 52 in Lake Huntington, NY. The Cochecton Democratic club is having its rally. Doors open at 7 p.m. There will be live music by The Gone Fishing Band, buffet dinner raffles and a 50/50. The cost is only $20 per person. The rally is open to everyone, so come on out and have a good time. For more information, call Daisy Smith at 845/932-8569.

On Sunday, October 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Tusten Town Hall, please come and help the Narrowsburg Ecumenical Food Pantry raise some money. This fall dinner dance costs $10 per person. Music will be provided by D.J. Dancing Dan. For more information, call Eileen 845/252-3568.

Please keep Bud Buddenhagen in your prayers, his wife Emily and family, are with him every day, Bud is a fighter, but prayers are needed.

Have a great week, and email me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have any news.
