Bullville man arrested for stealing jewelry

The New York State Police in Wurtsboro announce the arrest of Kevin M. Jewis, age 21, of Bullville, N.Y. for the felony charge of Grand Larceny 4th.

This arrest is the result of Troopers responding to a report of $2,300.00 worth of jewelry having been stolen from a residence in the Town of Mamakating. It is alleged that Jewis was a guest at the residence and while there, entered a bedroom within the residence and removed the aforementioned jewelry.  Read more

Police investigate Wurtsboro pedestrian fatality

On 06/30/2014, Troopers from SP Wurtsboro responded to a reported car/pedestrian motor vehicle accident which occurred on ST-209 in Wurtsboro. The investigation at the scene determined that a 2009 Honda Civic, operated by a forty-eight year old male from Phillipsport, N.Y. was traveling north bound on ST-209 when the vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian crossing the roadway in the area of Porco Gas. The pedestrian was identified as Donna Manning, age 78, of Wurtsboro, N.Y. The state police advise that no tickets have been issued but that the accident is still under investigation.
