Shohola may break with ambulance company

The Shohola Township Board of Supervisors is considering cutting ties with its ambulance provider, Pike County Advanced Life Support (ALS), due to “problems at scenes.” The news came as a shock to the ambulance service.  Read more

Shohola to hold public hearing; Tax abatement law considered

Shohola Township supervisors have approved advertising a public hearing for a proposed local tax abatement law.

“The law could give Shohola a fighting chance to compete for businesses that are seeking to locate in the Tri-State area, and specifically in Shohola, by giving such companies a tax break,” said Michael Sullivan, director of the Pike County Economic Development Authority (EDA).

The hearing will be held at the beginning of the township council meeting on February 14 at 7:30 p.m.  Read more

Pike gets $30,100 to design greenway

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has awarded Pike County a $30,100 grant to prepare a greenway plan for the Lackawaxen and Upper Delaware rivers. According to a press release from the Pike County Office of Community Planning, the project will complement an existing waterfront revitalization program currently underway in Sullivan County, NY.  Read more

No tax hike in Shohola
